The following are answers to common questions in the Microsoft FrontPage Client Newsgroup:

Changing the "Default" Home Page Name

You are using the FrontPage Personal Web Server

  1. Follow the instructions to Assign a Document Other Than Index.htm as Default Page.
  2. Open FP Explorer--Open your website
  3. Change to folder view
  4. Right click on the page you want to be your home page, and select rename, and rename it.

You are using the Microsoft Personal Web Server

  1. Click on Start
  2. Select settings, control panel
  3. Double-click on Personal Web Server
  4. Choose the "Administration" Tab
  5. Click on the "Administration" button. (that will launch your default browser, and display a page titled "Internet Services Administrator")
  6. Choose the "WWW Administration" link.
  7. Choose the "Directories" tab. At the bottom of that page change the name of the "Default Document", to whatever you wish.
  8. OK your way out.
  9. Open FP Explorer--Open your website
  10. Change to folder view
  11. Right click on the page you want to be your home page, and select rename, and rename it.
